First edition. Scarce work. Illustrated throughout with 12 plates. Collated complete. The story of Pedro and Petronilla, and their time in the old castle of the French Navarre. Written by Cornelia Baker. Illustrated by Fanny Young Cory, an American cartoonist and book illustrator best known for her comic strips 'Sonnysayings' and 'Little Miss Muffet'. Cory was one of America's first female syndicated cartoonists.

Condition

In the original green cloth binding. Externally, excellent with minor shelf wear to the extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean with light scattered spotting predominantly to the extremities.
