This study on the antiquity of Rome and Pompeii is carried out by Marie-Louis-Antoine-Gaston Boissier, a French classical scholar who specialised in ancient history. 

The work delves into the findings from excavations and the ties to its ancient culture, literature and religion. 



Condition

In the original cloth binding. Externally, smart with rubbing and bumping to the extremities. Small closed tear to the cloth to head of spine. Rear hinges starting but firm. Marks to the boards. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright and clean with offsetting to the endpapers and the occasional spot, heaviest to the first and last few leaves.
