The first edition of this beautifully illustrated early twentieth century study of Norway, the collaborative work of Anglo-Dutch painter Nico Jungman, and his wife, Beatrix Jungman. They collaborated on three such works, publishing studies of Holland and Normandy also.
With discussions of reindeer, legends and literature, arts and crafts and the fjords, amongst a variety of other topics.
Illustrated with seventy five coloured plates from Nico Jungman, each retaining the original captioned tissue guard. Collated, complete.
Condition
In the publisher's original pictorial cloth binding. Bumping to back strip head and tail, with light fading to cloth of back strip. Boards exceptionally bright. Spotting to fore edge of text block. Internally, firmly bound. Patches of foxing present throughout, as is common with this work.
