An exploration on the beauty and culture of Burma, a lovely travel work by Robert Talbot Kelly compiled during his travels across Burma, now known as Myanmar.

In this volume Kelly describes the characteristic features of the country, his descriptive text accompanied by striking plates.

Kelly's trip to Burma was significant as he had a large impact on the development of 20th Century Burmese paintings, with his influences being seen in the works of U Tun Hlla, Maung Maung Gyi, and Ba Ohn.

Illustrated with a colour frontispiece, one folding map, and seventy-four colour plates.

Collated, complete.

Condition

In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, smart. A little discolouration and minor marks to the boards and spine, as is usual with white cloth. Marks a little heavier to the rear board. Spine is a little discoloured. Light bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Front hinge is starting but firm. Two bookplates to the front paste down. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and generally clean with some light spots and handling marks, including to the plates.
