A first edition three-volume set in quarter morocco bindings with marbled boards.
Bookplate to the front paste downs. Library stamp and label to the front free end papers.
Volume I is illustrated with one full-page map and four folding maps. Volume II is illustrated with three folding maps. Volume III is illustrated with seven plans and five folding maps to the rear. Collated, complete.
A dictionary of the vocabulary used in the Bible, alphabetically arranged and edited by Martino Hagen, and complete in three volumes. Volume I, published in 1905, covers words beginning 'A' to 'C'; Volume II, published in 1907, covers words beginning 'D' to 'L'; Volume III, published in 1911, covers words beginning 'M' to 'Z'. Written in Latin, the history and context of each word is explained, with references to where it is found in the Bible. Illustrated with maps and plans.
Condition
In quarter morocco bindings. Externally fairly smart, with some marks to the leather and light shelf wear to the extremities. Small loss to the marbled paper to the rear board of Volume II. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are age toned but clean except for spotting to the first and last couple of pages. All folding maps in excellent condition.
