Folding Plates, Illustrated, Publishers' Original Binding

Volume XXVI only. Illustrated with folding frontispiece and nineteen further full page plates as well as numerous further vignettes in text. Collated, complete. 

English story paper published from 1880 to 1937, aimed at a young audience. Published by the Sunday School Union, it started off as a weekly periodical, but quickly went to monthly and finally annual. The present is from the annual publication. 

Containing adventure, school, and historical stories as well as articles concerned with science, natural history, sports, hobbies &c and verses, competitions, &c. 

Condition

In the original publisher's illustrated full cloth binding. Externally sound with minor shelf wear, bumped to head and tail of spine and extremities, with tear to cloth along rear joint. Front hinge slightly strained. Binding generally firm. Pages generally clean with some browning, as usual due to type of paper used.
