This profusely illustrated work showcases the beauty of Venice through descriptions written by Dorothy Menpes and colour illustrations by Mortimer Menpes. The work discusses the history of the city as well as the architecture, streets and gondolas. 

In the publisher's original decorative cloth.

Condition

In the publisher's original cloth. Externally smart with rubbing to the joints and extremities, bumping to the extremities, fading to the spine and the odd slight mark to the boards. Internally firmly bound with generally bright pages and occasional spotting, though plates remain clean. Gift inscription from 'George Barbour' to the half title.
