First edition. Illustrated throughout including 42 plates. Collated complete. An educational work providing information on sporting dogs compiled from the contributions of over five hundred experts. Written by Herbert Compton, an English novelist biographer and world traveler who wrote on miscellaneous topics such as India, economics and dogs. Contains eight pages of publisher's advertisements.

Condition

In the original red cloth binding. Externally, very smart with minor shelf wear to the extremities. A few marks to the boards and slight discolouration of the spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean with light spotting to the front and rear few pages only.
