A lovely early twentieth-century edition of Homer's classic epic poem, The Iliad, which depicts the end of the Trojan War and the ten year siege on the city of Troy, focussing upon the conflict between King Agamemnon and Achilles, and the death of Patroclus. 

Written by the Rev. Alfred J. Church.

The fourth edition of this Church's retelling.

Illustrated with sixteen plates in colour by Flaxman. Collated and complete.

With the prize bookplate of the Elstree School to the front pastedown, awarding the work to D. S. G. K. Boswell in 1907.

Condition

In a full calf prize binding, with gilt detailing. A touch of discolouration to spine, otherwise externally excellent. Bookplate to front pastedown. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright, with spotting throughout.
