What Our Customers Say...

Description

Publishers' Original Binding

First published in 1869, this is a humorous description of Twain's 'Great Pleasure Excursion' upon the 'Quaker City', a steamship once used by the US Navy. The journey took him through Europe and the Holy Land, taking five months, and was one of Twain's most popular works during his lifetime.

Mark Twain was the penname of Samuel Langhorn Clemens (1835-1910), an American writer and humorist whose novels include 'The Adventures of Tom Sawyer' and 'The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn'. He was deemed the 'father of American literature' by William Faulkner.

A new edition, with two hundred and thirty-four illustrations in the text.

A lovely example of this work.

Condition

In the publisher's original full cloth binding. Externally very smart, with just a little general wear to the edges and spine. Internally, firmly bound bar a touch of straining at the title page. Pages have just the odd spot.
