What Our Customers Say...

Description

Colour Plates, Illustrated, Publishers' Original Binding

A brightly illustrated collection of short stories, abridged from the best known works of Sir Walter Scott by Scottish novelist Samuel Rutherford Crockett.

Crockett's preface explains that faced with the resistance of his four children to reading Scott he told them these stories, 'much as carrots are dangled before the nose of the reluctant donkey'. The work contains multiple stories derived from Waverley, Guy Mannering, Rob Roy and The Antiquary.

Illustrated with sixteen full colour plates from artist Simon Harmon Vedder. Collated, complete.

Condition
