Leviathan or the matter, forme & power of a Commonwealth, Ecclesiastical and Civil was published in 1651. The work concerns the structure of society and legitimate government and is regarded as one of the earliest and most influential examples of social contract theory.
Condition
In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, very smart with some marks to the boards and spine and some bumping to the head and tail of the spine. Previous owner inscription to the front free endpaper. Internally, firmly bound with bright and generally clean pages. With some scattered spots to the first few pages.
