Collated, complete.

Documenting a 1902 trip to Africa, on which the author was determined to fine a five-horned giraffe that had recently been discovered by Sir Harry Johnston. On this trip Powell-Cotton hunted many other creatures, eventually finding his goal giraffe on the outskirts of Masai territory.

This was a remarkable journey, recounted in a vivid descriptive manner in this volume.

Written by Percy Powell-Cotton, an explorer, hunter, and conservationalist.

Pencil inscription noting the author's presentation to the recto to the front endpaper.

Condition

In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, smart. A little rubbing to the boards and spine. Minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine. A couple of minor marks to the boards. Front hinge is starting a little but remains firm. Pencil note to the recto to the front endpaper. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean. Very small closed tears to the folding maps, not affecting images.
