The scarce first edition of the publication of the journals of Lieutenant Bernard Moeller, who went to South African to fight in the Boer War alongside the Mounted Infantry section.
Illustrated with a portrait frontispiece, and seven further plates, including two folding maps. Collated, complete.
This work was published posthumously, as Moeller died of wounds in December of 1901, having twice been mentioned in despatches.
Condition
In the publisher's original cloth binding. Discolouration to back strip head and tail, and perimeters of front board. Hinges starting, with boards holding firm. Front free endpaper removed. Internally, firmly bound. Pages a touch age toned, with instances of light spotting throughout.
