A limited edition of this work. Limited to five-hundred copies. 

The papers within this volume first appeared in Bell's Life in London, which was a Sporting paper, and consider the foxhunting season of 1845-6. Surtees was an enthusiast for foxhunting and within this volume he goes into a deep analysis of the sport. 

Robert Smith Surtees was an English editor, novelist and sporting writer. 

With illustrations by H. Alken. With thirteen coloured plates, including the frontispiece and title page, and forty-tree illustrations in the text. 
Collated, complete.

Condition

In the publisher's original gilt cloth binding. Externally, very smart with some light bumping to the head and tail of the spine. Internally, firmly bound with bright and clean pages, except for some light scattered spots to the first and last few pages.
