Written by famed tennis siblings, Reginald and Laurence Doherty. Reginald, or "R. F", was a four-time Wimbledon singles champion and a triple gold Olympic medal-winner, while his brother was a six-time Grand Slam champion and a double Olympic gold medalist.
This work contains different information and tips on lawn tennis, including hints of grass courts, the best strokes to use, and how to play mixed doubles, among many others.
With illustrations throughout, including photographs of different stances to take while playing.
With an ink inscription of W. J. Burnett.
Condition
In the publisher's original pictorial cloth binding. Externally, smart, with light bumping to the extremities and to the head and tail of the spine. Darkening to the spine and the odd mark to the cloth. Hinges slightly strained. Ink inscription to front endpaper. Internally, generally firmly bound, with binding a little tender to the first few pages. Page eighteen loose but present.
