The 'New England's Memorial' was the first comprehensive history of the Plymouth colony, and first published in Cambridge in 1669. This is widely considered the first history book published in the United States.
Written by Nathaniel Morton, a settler of the Plymouth Colony in Massachusetts and an administrator of the colony, whose writings are amongst the earliest American histories.
With an introduction by Arthur Lord.
Published for the Club of Odd Volumes, a Boston-based society of bibliophiles founded in 1887. Its members have included Alfred A. Knopf Sr., J. P. Morgan, George Harrison Mifflin and Franklin D. Roosevelt.
Condition
In the publisher's original quarter cloth binding. Externally generally smart, with some slight bumping to the head and tail of the spine and extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are uncut, and bright and clean.
