A fascinating account of the Spanish Empire's conquest of Peru in the sixteenth century.

Written by William H. Prescott, an American historian and Hispanist; his specialist subject was the early Spanish Empire.

First published in 1847, this is a new and revised edition.

Awarded to Earl for the English Prize dated 1925.

Condition

In a half calf binding. Externally generally smart; a little faded to the spine as to be expected with calf of this colour. Extremities are a touch bumped, with light rubbing to the head of the spine. Prize bookplate to the front endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are a little spotted to the first and final leaves, as well as the foredge.
