    In a half calf binding. Numerous illustrations and 24 colour plates. Collated complete. This volume is an attempt to popularise the physical, chemical, biological, and geological sciences. The book is profusely illustrated and contains a series of essays on various subjects of pure and applied science. Subjects cover physics, chemistry, meteorology, nutrition and natural history. There are some fascinating essays on photography and electricity. The authors of these essays are: Alexander S. Galt, also the editor; T. C. Hepworth; Wilfred Mark Webb; Edwin Bale; Frank C. Weedon; John Fraser; C. W. Walker-Tisdale; John Munro; Professor T. G. Bonney; Dr. Andrew Wilson; Bernard Hollander; William Ackroyd; R. Gordon Blaine; F. W. Stansfield; John O. Peet; W. F. Denning; Arthur H. Bell; Rev. J. M. Bacon; and A. Hilliard Atteridge.

    Condition

    In a half calf binding. Externally smart with a little rubbing to the spine and the leather to the rear board. Spine is slightly faded and boards are sunned, with some small stains to the rear board. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean except for some offsetting to the free end papers and a handling mark to the first blank page.
