One volume in a series of similar works from author Rawdon Briggs Lee, a dog breeder himself, and prolific writer on the subject. The other works in this series examined terriers, collies, sheep dogs and sporting dogs.

This work is illustrated with twenty-three plates illustrated by Arthur Wardle and R. H. Moore, each retaining their original tissue guard. Collated, complete.

With four pages of publisher's advertisements to the rear, and the armorial bookplate of Henry Courtney Brocklehurst, brother of Arctic explorer Sir Philip Brocklehurst, to the front pastedown.

Condition

In the publisher's original cloth binding. Light fading to back strip, with bumping to spine head and tail. Armorial bookplate to front pastedown. Frontispiece detached but present. Otherwise, internally, firmly bound. Pages clean and bright.
