An impressive set which offers a vast history on the subcontinent, a comprehensive geographical economic, social, and cultural catalogue of India. The works were mostly produced by the british Viceroy during the conquest of India.

Ex-institution set, in a library binding, with stamps and labels.

Condition

In a cloth binding. Externally, smart. Light bumping to the head and tail of the spines and to the extremities. Some light marks and rubbing to the boards and spines. Stamp to the spines. Spines are a little faded. Front hinge is starting but firm to 'Bhandara'. Front hinge is strained to the Muzaffarnagar and Sitapur Mandla volumes. Rear hinge starting to the Mandla volume. Front hinge of Hoshangabad is weak, rear hinge is starting. Hinges starting to the Wardha, Seoni, Saurgor, Gwalior, Indore, Monghyr, Buldana, Akola, Almora, and Murshidabad volumes. Front hinge of Betul has failed, rear hinge is starting. Loss to the rear endpaper of Saurgor. Insitutional labels and stamps to the paste downs. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean, with a few scattered spots, and institutional stamps and blind stamps. Folding map of 'Muzaffarnagar' is working loose with some small chips. Repair to the gutter of the title page of 'Bhandara'
