The complete set of the works of important author Charles Lamb, in a lovely half calf binding and marbled boards. Volume twelve being the 1903 first edition, while the other volumes are early reprints of the first edition. 

A miscellaneous of writings, from essays to poems for children, with titles The Essays of Elia, The Last Essays of Elia, Critical Essays, Essays and Sketches, Poems, Plays, and Rosamund Gray, Tales from Shakespeare co-authored with his sister Mary Lamb, Stories for Children, Poetry for Children, English Dramatic Poets in two volumes, and Letters in two volumes. 

Collating complete with frontispiece, twenty seven full plates to volume three, thirty two plates from the original to volume six, ten plates to volume nine, nine plates to volume ten, seven full plates to volume eleven, and five plates to volume twelve, as well as multiple illustrations in text throughout in each volume. 

Condition

In half calf binding with marble boards and gilt to tope edge. Externally lovely with only minor shelfwear and minor rubbing to spine and extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Minor faint spotting to fore edge, affecting only the occasional leaf, although they remain generally clean throughout. Collating complete, with frontispiece, twenty seven full plates to volume three, thirty two plates from the original to volume six, ten plates to volume nine, nine plates to volume ten, seven full plates to volume eleven, and five plates to volume twelve, as well as multiple illustrations in text throughout in each volume.
