First Edition Part of the English Bookman's Library series, the work contains numerous plates and vignettes throughout. Direct from the library of the late Hugh Selbourne MD (1906-1973), a noted book collector and diarist. Ink inscription by prior owner, 'H. Guppy', a notable librarian of the John Rylands Library in Manchester to front free endpaper.

Condition

In cloth binding with gilt detailing. Externally smart, bumped to head and tail of spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and clean throughout.
