The sixth edition of this work. 'The Life of the Bee' is a look of the natural history of bees, whilst also diving into philosophical humanity. Written by Maurice Maeterlinck, who was an enthusiastic and expert beekeeper, as well as being an influential Belgian writer who won the Nobel Prize in Literature. Translated by Alfred Sutro. Sutro was a dramatist and translator, known for being the first to translate Maeterlinck's works into English. In a signed half vellum binding by Truslove and Hanson.

Condition

In a signed half vellum binding with cloth to the boards, signed by Truslove and Hanson. Externally, smart. Some discolouration and marks to the vellum, as is usual with the colour. A little bumping to the extremities. Some minor marks to the boards. The odd spot to the fore edge. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright with some scattered spots, heavier to the first and last few pages.
