A collection of three volumes, each comprising ten facsimile reproductions which explore the history of Old Boston and neighbourhood, New England, and other various subjects. Each volume has a limitation a number of copies printed, first and only edition of this work - more detail below. By Samuel Abbott Green, vice-president of the Massachusetts Historical Society; he served as medical officer during the American Civil War and mayor of Boston in 1882. 

Comprising facsimile reproductions by heliotypes or photo-lithography of some extremely rare original documents, each accompanied with bibliographical notes and historical notices. 

Some bright copies in the original publisher's uniform cloth binding.

Old Boston and Neighbourhood. Limited to one hundred copies. With reproductions of the earliest American newspaper, Hubbard's map of New England, the earliest Boston imprint, Bonner's map of Boston, and Butler's map of Groton as well as others. Collated, complete, five plates folding.  

New England, limited to one-hundred-and-twenty-five copies. Reproductions include a map of Massachusetts, Stephen Daye the earliest printer in the country, the Seat of War, State Street, and the Stamp Act among others. Collated, complete, with double-page plates.

Various Subjects, limited to one-hundred-and-twenty-five copies. With reproductions of some engraved portraits of the Mather family, an early Boston imprint, panorama of Boston, the Battle of Bunker Hill, and the crossed swords as well as others. Collated, complete, with double-page plates. .

Condition

In the original publisher's uniform cloth bindings. Externally very smart with minor shelf wear, minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine and extremities, minor rubbing to the boards of the Old Boston volume. Advertising pamphlet loosely inserted to the Old Boston volume. Internally, firmly bound. Th pages are bright and clean. Illustrated with facsimile reproductions to each volume. Collated, complete, some folding and double page plates.
