The etched title page is the work of Scottish painter and etcher Sir David Young Cameron.
This volume contains photographs of the Royal Reception Rooms - and the paintings exhibited within - during the Glasgow International Exhibition of 1801. Depicted are the works of Old Masters such as Da Vinci, Botticelli, Rembrandt, Van Dyck and many others, including early Flemish painters.
This is an ex-library copy, and the external condition reflects this. Containing stamps, and a library book plate for the 'Bath Municipal Reference Library' to the front pastedown.
Condition
In the publisher's original paper vellum binding. Marks to the spine and boards, with some rubbing and loss to the paper vellum. Ring mark remnant to the front board. Bumping to the extremities and head and tail of spine. Remnant of library sticker to tail of spine. Library plate, stamp, and notations to the front pastedown. Internally, firmly bound. Further library stamp to verso of title page. Pages are bright and clean.
