Description

Illustrated, Publishers' Original Binding, Very Scarce

A very scarce work. With a Sotheran stamp to the verso to the front endpaper, though the book is in the original publisher's cloth binding. An extensive collection of French and English recipes, containing a total of over three-thousand five hundred recipes, ranging from starters, mains, and puddings. Illustrated with a frontispiece, and twenty-five plates. Written by A. Bautte. Prior owner's ink inscription to the reverse of the frontispiece, 'Joanna McGilvray, 81 Piccadilly 1903'. With one page of publisher's adverts to the rear.

Condition

In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, generally smart. Slight mark to the rear board. A little discolouration to the head and tail of the spine. Minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. A few light marks to the front board. Front hinge is starting but firm. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages are bright and generally clean with the odd spot. The very occasional ink annotation to the margins.
