Illustrated, Limited Edition, Publishers' Original Binding, Signed
Limited edition. Number 368 of 500, signed by the author. A profusely illustrated work, bound in the publisher's original cloth binding. This is a lavishly illustrated work of travel writing both illustrated and written by the successful the English artist Robert Talbot Kelly. This particular work was the first of Kelly's illustrated travel books and documents Kelly's extensive travels throughout the country of Egypt. Incredibly well received, Kelly's paintings on the Egyptian landscape were showing at the Fine Art Society in the same year as this books publication. Illustrated with 75 plates. The frontispiece is detached but present. Collated complete. One of the tissue guards is detached but present.
In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally sound, with light bumping to the head and tail of the spine and also to the extremities. Fading to the spine with patches of rubbing. Internally generally firmly bound, with the frontispiece and edition pages detached but present. Pages are generally bright and clean, with the odd spot.
