Complete in two volumes. 

Illustrated with thirteen plates in colour, six plates in black and white, and numerous in-text illustrations. 

A presentation copy signed and inscribed by well-known cricketer Sir H.D.G. Leveson Gower to the front free-endpaper of each volume: 'Carl Michaels, with best wishes, from H.D.G. Leveson Gower, January 1907'. H.D.G. Leveson Gower played first-class cricket at Oxford University and served as captain for England in Test cricket. 

Undated; dated from copies held at the British Library.

Condition

In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, some shelf wear to the boards and bumping to the heads and tails of the spines and extremities, particularly to the tails of the spines. Cloth splitting to the heads of the front joints on both volumes, and to the spine of Volume II. Contemporary inscription from Sir H.D.G. Leveson Gower to the front free-endpaper of each volume. Internally, hinges are starting. Remaining binding generally firm. Light spotting and age-toning to the first and last few pages, and the odd spot and handling mark throughout, otherwise pages are bright and clean.
