The first edition first impression copy of ths work, which was re-issued in a cheaper edition in 1913. 

At the Point of the Bayonet is a historical fiction set during the Mahratta War. 

George Alfred Henty was an English novelist and War Correspondent who is most known for his works of adventure fiction and historical fiction. 

With twelve illustrations by Wal Paget and three plans.
Collated, complete. 

With thirty two pages of publisher adverts to the rear.

Condition

In the publisher's original pictorial cloth binding. Externally, smart. Some fading to the spine and bumping to the head and tail of the spine. With a bookplate for the Pleasant Sunday Afternoon Society to the front pastedown and a previous owner inscription to the front free endpaper. Front hinge is starting but remains generally firm. Internally, firmly bound with bright and clean pages.
