Formerly known as Battery Park, the Battery is a 25 acre public park at the southernmost tip of Manhattan Island, New York. It was named for the artillery batteries which protected the settlement behind in the late seventeenth century.

Written by William Loring Andrews, a collector of rare books and writer.

Delightfully illustrated throughout, including in colour and in monochrome.

A limited edition, with only 135 copies printed on handmade paper.

Complete with the original slipcase.

A scarce work on New York's history.

Condition

In a full cloth binding with a slipcase. Externally lovely. Slipcase is rather worn, with the backstrip unfortunately lost. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
