What Our Customers Say...
Description
First Edition, Illustrated, Publishers' Original Binding, Rebound
First edition, later state binding, with blue text to the boards and spine, rather that the gilt of the first issue, and white endpapers.
'The First Men in the Moon' is an important science romance novel, following a journey to the Moon undertaken by a businessman and an eccentric scientist.
Illustrated with a frontispiece, and eleven plates, by Claude Shepperson.
Collated, complete.
By H. G. Wells, this work was originally serialised in the 'Strand Magazine' from December 1900 to August 1901.
This work inspired C. S. Lewis, as he strove to write his own science fiction to be the antithesis of Wells' work, though he did enjoy 'The First Men in the Moon'.
