A fully comprehensive and fascinating work on oriental and occidental rugs, published in the early twentieth century. Including chapters on the history of rug-weaving, rug-weaving in different parts of the world (India, Persia, Afghanistan, Turkey, etc.), as well as rug-weaving techniques of Eastern Europe, Great Britain, and the United States. 

Also containing a detailed bibliography and index to the rear.

Containing thirty-one full page plates, many of which are in colour. Collated and complete.

Condition

In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, cloth is darkening slightly to the boards and spine. Bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities, and some general shelf wear to the boards. Cloth to the joints is slightly splitting in places, though joints hold firm. Internally, hinges are starting but firm. Binding is slightly tender, but firm. Pages are bright and clean.
