An account of Prince Luigi Amedeo's expedition in 1899 to explore the North Pole. For this expedition he consulted Fridtjof Nansen, who, at that point in time, was the man who had sailed the furthest north. This expedition beat Nansen's record by 35 to 40 kilometres.
Prince Luigi Amedeo, the Duke of the Abruzzi, was an Italian mountaineer and explorer, known for his expeditions to Mount Saint Elias and K2.
Condition
In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, rubbed. Minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Cloth is a little discoloured with a few minor marks. Hinges are strained. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages are bright and generally clean with scattered spots, a little heavier to the first and last few pages. The first gathering is working loose.
