1901 Engraving Catalogues (Priced) For Season 1900 & 1901
What Our Customers Say...
Description
Rebound
Featuring more than thirty catalogues from the auctioneers Christie, Manson & Woods, known today simply as "Christie's", the world's largest fine art auction house. Each separate catalogue contains a comprehensive list of the engravings that were offered on the day, with a contemporary ink note of the eventual sale price in the margin. With an attractive, handwritten copperplate title to front wrap. Really a fascinating and unusual collection.
Condition
Bound in cloth-backed paper wraps. Externally, a little worn to backstrip and extremities, as one expects from paper wraps of this age, but generally in good condition with minor loss to head and tail of backstrip only. Internally, individual catalogues are firmly bound, the string that joins them together is firm although no longer taut. Pages are generally bright and clean with some age toning to fore-edge and occasional patches of spotting here and there.
