Big Game Shooting is part of a sporting and publishing project dedicated to His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales, 'The Badminton Library,' conceived by Longmans Green & Co., and edited by the eighth Duke of Beaufort, Henry Somerset. It published twenty-eight volumes between 1885 and 1896, covering various sports and pastimes.
In half morocco and orange cloth binding, with tiles stamped in gilt to spine. Bookplate to front paste downs. Complete with frontispiece and seventy-seven illustrations to volume one, and seventy-three to volume two.
Condition
In half morocco and orange cloth binding, with titles stamped in gilt to spine. Externally smart, with some rubbing to spine and extremities. Minor bumping to head and tail of spine, particularly to volume one. MInor handling marks to boards. Internally, hinges are slightly strained but firm. Minor spotting to first and last few leaves as well as edges, occasionally affecting pages. Bookplate to front paste downs. Complete with frontispiece and seventy-seven illustrations to volume one, and seventy-three to volume two.
