What Our Customers Say...

Description

Leather Binding

Including Miscellaneous Poems, Paradise Lost and Paradise Regain'd. A clear frontis piece portrait of Milton alongside facsimile signature. Five illustrative plates replicating original covers. Originally published in 1667, Paradise Lost was Milton's seminal work on the Biblical story of the Fall of Man. Despite Milton's tentative wish that it might 'fit audience find, though few', it was immediately endorsed as an impressive accomplishment by his opponents and allies alike.

Condition

In a half bound morocco binding. Externally, sound. Front board is detached but present. Some markings, mainly on the front board Rear joints starting but firm. Fore-edge wearing slightly. Internally, firmly bound. Pages generally bright and clean throughout. Overall condition is affected by the detached board, otherwise internally the work is a very good condition.
