Attached to the pastedowns of both volumes is the bookplate of the Earl of Halsbury, a now extinct Devonshire peerage.

Condition

In the original half morocco binding with paper covered boards. Externally smart, with minor loss to extremities. The front board of volume I is held by cords only, and may detach without careful handling. Armorial bookplates to the front pastedowns. Binder's stamp to recto of Volume I front free endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Photogravure plates have tissue guards intact. Coloured ink to some folding maps, highlighting existing markings and not interfering with readability.
