The first trade edition of this work, preceded by a very scarce Mosher edition limited to one hundred copies printed on vellum, published in the 'Old World Series.' A fascinating collection of spiritual works by William Sharp, Scottish author who unusually published under female pseudonym Fiona Macleod, kept almost secret during his lifetime. He was known as editor of the poetry of Ossian, Walter Scott, and others.
Containing his work 'The Divine Adventure', 'Iona,' and 'By Sundown Shores,' discussing themes of spiritual history and elements including the wind, silence, love, earth, fire, and more.

Condition
In the original publisher's full cloth binding. Externally sound with minor shelf wear and some bumping to the head and tail of the spine and extremities, light soiling to the boards and spine. With evidence of removal of a large bookplate to the front free endpaper, obscuring a previous owner's inscription, undated. The hinges are only slightly strained, holding firm. The volume firmly bound. light minor spotting scattered to the first and last few leaves, otherwise the pages are bright and clean throughout.
