As well as serving in the British Indian Army in the second half of the 19th century, Kenney-Herbert also regularly wrote articles about Indian cookery for local Madras publication. Sweet Dishes can be seen as a companion piece to Kenney -Herbert's previous work, Culinary Jottings for Madras. A fourth, revised edition of this work in which obsolete recipes have been removed, and new ones substituted, and necessary corrections made. Blind stamp to title page from publisher and book shop. Condition
In the publisher's original blue cloth binding. Externally, generally smart. A little rubbed to the boards, mainly at the joints. Lightly bumped to the head and tail of the spine with some minor wear to the extremities. Internally, firmly bound with bright and clean pages.
