With a frontispiece, illustrated title page, vignettes, a folding plate and 22 photographic plates. Collated complete. 

This work was written by American lecturer, photographer, journalist and writer George Wharton James. This work provides an account of the author's ten years of visits to the Grand Canyon, describing his experiences and using his photographic skills to capture the beauty of the area.

Condition

In the original publisher's cloth. Externally very smart with fading and slight cockling to the spine, slight bumping and rubbing to the extremities and minor marks to the boards. Hinges starting with minor marks to the endpapers and an old ink inscription to the front free endpaper dated 1908. Internally firmly bound with generally clean and bright pages with the odd spot, heavier to the front and rear blanks.
