The first edition of the work. With fifteen plates, three maps, two of which are folding, and numerous vignette illustrations. Collated complete. Written by Reverend Samuel Marinus Zwemer, nicknamed The Apostle of Islam. Arabia: The Cradle of Islam was Zwemer's first work, and is a thorough look into the geography, people and politics of the Peninsula, with an account of Islam and mission work. A thorough work regarding the Middle East, profusely illustrated throughout.

Condition

In the original pictorial cloth binding. Externally very smart with slight rubbing to the extremities. Handling marks to the boards. Rear hinge slightly strained but firm. Worming to the first four leaves. Internally firmly bound. Pages bright and clean. Previous owner's stamp to front free endpaper.
