The Peninsular was the military conflict fought in the Iberian Peninsular by Spain, Portugal and the United Kingdom against invading and occupying forces of the First French Empire during the Napoleonic Wars.
George Alfred Henty was an English novelist and War Correspondent who is most known for his works of adventure fiction and historical fiction.

In the publisher's original pictorial cloth binding. Externally, smart with some fading to the spine, some bumping to the head and tail of the spine and some marks to the boards. With a bookplate to the front pastedown from Ring Street Church and an ink mark to the front free endpaper and pastedown. Internally, firmly bound with bright and clean pages.
