The book is intended as a guide for passengers by the P. & O. steamers. It also contains general information for those travelling to the far East. Contents include Notes for a Tour Through India, and Directions for Staff.
The Peninsular and Oriental Steam Navigation Company is still in existence today. It is a British shipping and logistics company originating in the nineteenth century.
Includes 11 illustrations on monochrome plates and 9 maps. Collated, complete.

In cloth binding. Externally, very smart. Minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. The front hinge is starting but firm. Ink inscription dated 1900 from prior owner. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
