Illustrated, Limited Edition

Strictly limited to a printing of 1500 copies, with this particular volume appers to be one of the 300 volumes published for general sale. This particular work explores the dress of the Royal Regiment of Artillery from 1625 to 1869. Illustrated throughout by Captain R. J. MacDonald, this work documents the changes in military attire over a period of 200 years. Also included is a later supplement, dated 1925, entitled 'The Royal Regiment of Artillery', complied by Lieut.-Col J. H Leslie and Col. E. A. P. Hobday. With a list of subscribers to the rear of the volume. Collated, incomplete, with one plate lacking. 23 plates remain. This particular volume is ideal for those with a keen interest in military history, or indeed clothing designs of the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries.

Condition

In a quarter cloth binding with paper covered boards. Externally, worn. Heavy bumping to the head and tail of the spine, and to the extremities have resulted in loss. Spotting to the cloth. Rubbing to the front and rear boards. Crack to the head and tail of the front joint, and also to along the rear joint, resulting in a small amount of fraying to the cloth. Small tide mark to the cloth to the rear. Front hinge is strained, with chords showing. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages are lightly spotted throughout, heaviest to the tissue guards. Plates remain bright and generally clean. The supplementary work is loosely inserted, and is good condition. One plate lacking.
