A scarce volume being the first edition of Alfred Lubbock's memories of Eton and the Old Etonians, with various illustrations.
Lubbock is best known as an amateur cricketer who played first class cricket between 1863 and 1875. He was considered to be one of the best batsmen of his time; he also played association football with the Old Etonians, whose players were alumni of Eton College.
In this volume, Lubbock recollects his memories of Eton and his time as a player, as well as his life at Eton from 1854 to 183, and some reminiscences of cricket.

In a half calf binding with cloth covered boards. Externally excellent with some sunning to the spine and a slight rubbing to the leather to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Internally, firmly bound. With a minor scattered spotting to the fore edge, affecting only the occasional leaf, particularly to the first and last few. Generally, the pages are bright and clean throughout. Illustrated with various portraits and illustrations.
