In the publisher's original cloth with a gilt illustration of Chitral and gilt text. 

With thirty two illustrations, a map and four plans. Collated complete. 

This work was written by British soldier and author Sir George Scott Robertson. Robertson was best known for his command of British Empire forces during the siege of Chitral, which he has described in this work. This description of the siege at Chitral provides a first hand account of the event and has been accompanied with many photographic plates and plans.

Condition

In the publisher's original cloth. Externally very smart with fading to the spine, bumping to the extremities resulting in minor closed tears to the cloth, the odd minor mark to the boards and a damp stain the rear board. Offsetting to the end papers with hinges starting but firm to the front and slight damp stains to the extremities to the rear. Internally firmly bound with bright and generally clean pages with the odd spot, heavier to the front and minor damp stains to the extremities of the advertisements.
