This volume features six fiction novels by the English author, editor, novelist and sporting writer, Robert Smith Surtees (R. S. Surtees). Smith is best known for writing works on hunting and field sports, with his most popular character being 'Jorrocks' a sporting cockney grocer.
Bound in the original publisher's cloth.
Condition
In the publisher's original cloth. Externally smart with fading to the spines and to the head of the front board to 'Plain or Ringlets?', bumping to the extremities, closed tears to the head of the spines, minor loss to the head of the spine to 'Sponge's Sporting Tour', marks to the spines including the odd small damp stain to the spines and the odd minor mark to the boards. Bookplate belonging to Alfred Mounsey' to the front pastedown. Hinges starting to 'Ask Mamma' vols one and two. Offsetting and spotting to the endpapers. Internally firmly bound with occasional spotting and light age toning.
