An interesting work detailing William Fitzgerald's travels in British East Africa, and his notes on the agricultural resources and general characteristics. William Walter Augustine Fitzgerald was an Irish traveller, writer, and fellow of the Royal Geographical Society. In the late nineteenth century, he spent two years exploring the British East African coastlands, whilst being employed to report on their agricultural capabilities by the Director of the Imperial British East Africa Company. The half title page is present. With a previous seller's small number label to the bottom of the front paste-down.
