A very scarce printing, being the first edition issued after the 1895 Kelmscott printing. The first trade edition, published by Longmans. Stated as a 'new edition'.

'Beowulf' is an Old English epic poem in the tradition of Germanic heroic legend, and is one of the most important and translated works of Old English literature.
This translation by John Mitchell Kemble and William Morris was one of the first translations of Beowulf.
Condition
In a publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, generally smart. Light rubbing to the joints and to the head and tail of spine. Small loss to the head of spine. Patches of rubbing to the spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright. Just the odd spot.
